Drew McIntyre is next in line for a world championship match.
The July 29 edition of WWE SmackDown opened with the “Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook” match between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. The bout was heavily gimmicked with Irish and Scottish themes, including flags and weapons.
Ridge Holland and Butch both interfered as the match had no disqualifications. However, McIntyre was able to withstand both of them before putting Sheamus away with a boot to score the pinfall victory. Post-match, McIntyre started to give a victory speech when Mr. Money in the Bank Theory laid him out.
Drew McIntyre will now challenge either Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales, on Saturday, September 3.
