Matt Cardona says he’ll be at Game Changer Wrestling‘s Homecoming event on August 14, but he won’t be there for a match.
In a tweet on June 24, the Internet Champion stated that because GCW owner Brett Lauderdale hasn’t offered to pay for his surgery or his rehab and instead wanted to unbook him from Homecoming, he will be at the show. He wrote that rather than suing Lauderdale, Cardona declared that he and his wife, Chelsea Green, will renew their vows at the event.
I was injured at a @GCWrestling_ show. @Lauderdale11 didn’t offer to pay for my surgery/rehab. He then wanted to unbook me from Homecoming…the show that I MADE FAMOUS! In lieu of suing GCW, we agreed that @ImChelseaGreen & I WILL be booked & inviting you all to our vow renewal! pic.twitter.com/s1JKbbue6X

GCW Homecoming is quite meaningful for Cardona; at the 2021 edition, he defeated Nick Gage to win the promotion’s world title in a Death Match. Cardona is currently sidelined with a torn bicep he suffered at GCW Downward Spiral on May 28.
Update: Lauderdale responded by retweeting Cardona and saying that he doesn’t want another lawsuit, so he’ll “play ball.” GCW later confirmed the segment with a tweet.
This is a low point but last thing we need is another lawsuit so i guess we're gonna have to play ball here https://t.co/52NBxyCGOx
