Sheamus Feels Like He Has Another 13 Years Left In His WWE Career

It doesn’t sound like The Celtic Warrior Sheamus will be stepping away from WWE anytime soon.

The SmackDown Superstar recently sat down with The Five Count to discuss a wide variety of subjects. During the interview, Sheamus revealed that on June 30, he will be with WWE for 13 years and went on to say he feels like he’s got another 13 years left in him.

“You never know what life brings you,” Sheamus said. “The ups and downs, the roller coaster rides in this job for me, have been incredible. On June 30, I celebrate 13 years with WWE. I feel like I’ve got 13 years left, to be honest. Yeah, I’m excited to get to Minneapolis. I like Minneapolis; there’s a really good store up there. I can’t think of a name. That’s where I bought one or two of me shillelaghs that I use for live events. So it’s a really good Irish contingency up in Minneapolis as well. Irish people love the cold. It’s like the best of all worlds.”

When asked about the fact that his WWE career has already lasted longer than some WWE Hall of Famers like Hulk Hogan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Sheamus admitted he didn’t really see it that way.

“Yeah, it’s weird. I don’t really see it that way,” Sheamus said. “Just because our business and what we do is such a hectic schedule. It really doesn’t feel like 13 years, if that makes any sense. But I’ve had a lot of character changes over the years too. I’ve adapted; I’ve changed my look. I’ve brought my look back. I’ve done some crazy looks. I’m in a faction now; I was in The Bar for a couple of years with Cesaro, which was so much fun. Then I came back as a single guy again.

“Now I’m in with these two young lads, Ridge and Butch. I’ve taken them under my wing, and I’m bringing them up. Bring them into WWE, helping them get settled and have fun at the same time. So, yeah, there’s been a lot of little different things that happened, and all those things, I believe, help with longevity as well. They also help the time pass a lot quicker. But I’m still having fun, mate. I’m still enjoying what I do. I still love being out in front of the live crowd and knocking the sh-t out of my opponents. But yeah, I’m having fun. As long as you’re having fun, you just try and go as long as you possibly can.”
