Eddie Kingston Apologized To Tony Khan For Wasting Gas At AEW Double Or Nothing: ‘It Was A Lot Of Money’

Eddie Kingston felt bad about wasting so much gas at AEW Double or Nothing, given how it’s increasingly expensive.

Kingston was involved in one of the most memorable moments of the pay-per-view when, during the Anarchy in the Arena match, he came to the ring covered in blood and carrying a gas can. “The Mad King” poured some of the gas, determined to light Chris Jericho on fire, but Bryan Danielson stopped him.

In a new interview with Joe Roderick, Kingston expressed his regret that he didn’t get to put the gas to good use and noted that he apologized to Tony Khan, in his own way, for the expense.

“Yeah it was a lot of money that I wasted,” said Kingston. “Well, not really wasted, if I got my chance. But yeah, it was a lot of money. I had to kinda apologize to Tony Khan a little bit. I don’t like apologizing, but I kinda do it in a roundabout way. I had to apologize to him for wasting that much gas.”

On June 29, the bitter rivalry between Kingston and Jericho will reach its likely culmination at AEW Blood & Guts in battle that promises to live up to the name. When asked about this upcoming clash, “The Mad King” made it clear that he’s looking forward to it because he likes to fight.

“Yeah, of course,” said Kingston. “I like to fight. I like to wrestle, and I like to fight. But I just haven’t been able to wrestle wrestle because I’d rather punch Chris Jericho and everyone else in the face. I don’t wanna grapple with them or suplex them. I just want to punch ’em, gouge their eyes, break their nose, maybe grab the Adam’s Apple, all the dirty stuff that you learn in the streets. You know, grab their crotch. All that stuff, I’d rather do that.”
