Mia Yim Aims To Steal The Show In The Queen Of The Mountain Match At IMPACT Slammiversary

Mia Yim, Tasha Steelz, Deonna Purrazzo, Chelsea Green, and Jordynne Grace will make history when they compete in the Queen of the Mountain Match at IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary. Plus, the Knockouts World Championship will be on the line, so the stakes couldn’t be higher. Fresh off her return to IMPACT, Yim is confident that everyone involved will deliver a “banger”, as they’ll go all-out to put on the best match of the night.

In an interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Yim previewed the bout and noted that she has a history with ladder matches, and she’s faced most of the participants before, so she believes it will be a great match.

“I’m definitely nervous,” said Yim. “Everyone knows my reputation with ladder matches. All the women are different but all incredibly talented. I’ve wrestled all of them in the independents, except for Tasha. I know how hard these girls can go. I know we’re going to have a banger of a match because we all want the same thing, which is to put on the match of the night. We’re going kill each other. It’s going to be great.”

Yim returned to IMPACT in May after WWE released her last November; she previously worked for the promotion from 2015-2017 and won the Knockouts Championship. Determined to make his chapter of her career different, she freshened up her presentation by tapping into her Koran heritage and her love for video games.

“I had gotten really deep into video games several years ago,” said Yim. “I always wanted to do a Cyberpunk/Watch Dogs character. As a gamer, I loved the ascetic vibe. It’s an evening coming into one. It’s similar to the HBIC [Head Baddie In Charge] I was doing, but with a whole new twist. More me. Kind of geeky, nerdy, and futuristic but still urban and street. I wanted to incorporate my Korean heritage into this where my mom wrote my Korean name for my video intro on the screen. The futuristic masks, the city lights; I had all this control I haven’t had in so long. My best friend made my entrance song. Overall, it honestly came from games and that I’m a nerd.”
