On May 23, the National Wrestling Alliance announced that Aron Stevens‘ “Swan Song” will be at NWA Always Ready on June 11; he’ll face Trevor Murdoch at the pay-per-view.
Initially, it was unclear whether this bout would be Stevens’ last match, but in an Instagram post on May 24, he stated that this contest will be the conclusion of his wrestling career:
“This match against Trevor Murdoch at #ALWAYZREADY, My Swan song as it were, not only marks the finale of an unparalleled wrestling career but the dawn of a new age. When I first left wrestling, the business experienced one of the biggest lulls in its history. Since returning, my presence has not only proven a blessing to fans everywhere but the entire industry has been better off because I was a part of it. After June 11th I will keep the wrestling fans, all staff, the competitors, and the entire industry in my thoughts and prayers going forward as they all proceed without me. Thank you.”

Stevens has been with the promotion since 2019; he is a former NWA National Champion, and he also held the NWA World Tag Team Championship with JR Kratos. Previously, he spent several years with WWE as Damien Sandow and, at one point, Damien Mizdow. He won the Money in the Bank contract in 2013, and he held the WWE Tag Team Championship with Cody Rhodes. Stevens left WWE in 2016 and worked for IMPACT Wrestling until 2017. During his time with the company, he won the IMPACT Grand Championship.
