Zachary Wentz (fka Nash Carter, real name Zachary Green) was released by WWE in April after he faced assault allegations by his wife and had an inappropriate photo resurface online. The photo in question featured Wentz sporting a “Hitler mustache” and doing a Nazi salute, and it was reportedly taken in 2015.
On Monday, Wentz issued a statement in regards to the photo and took responsibility for his actions, claiming that he was ignorant of how hurtful the act was at the time. Many people have come to his defense since he was released, including former partner Wes Lee’s (Dezmond Xavier) wife and other peers, and now MJF has spoken out in support of Wentz.
MJF posted the following, dismissing claims that Wentz was antisemitic and called for people to let him do his job.
“I lived with this man. He’s not an antisemite. Stop virtue signaling and let the man do his job,” MJF wrote.
In a subsequent reply (which has since been deleted along with the original remark) MJF responded to a fan that thanked him for going “out of character” to respond to Wentz’s situation. MJF said that he was not a character, but rather a “person with a functional brain that doesn’t try to cancel people for a sexual thrill.”
Zachary Wentz will return to the ring on May 21 for No Peace Underground in Orlando; the event will mark his first post-WWE appearance.
