Riddle has learned a lot from Randy Orton, but “The Original Bro” is confident that he has taught “The Viper” a valuable lesson, too.
Riddle and Orton, collectively known as RK-Bro, have become the top team on WWE RAW over the past several months. They’re the reigning RAW Tag Team Championship, and their entertaining partnership has widely been praised by fans and analysts alike.
During an appearance on The Rhode Show, Riddle described how working with Orton has been a “dream come true” because he’s such a “stallion”. He noted that being able to pick Orton’s brain has helped him a lot.
“Randy’s a stallion,” said Riddle. “I mean I’m a stallion but Randy’s at another level of stallion-hood. And to be in the ring with him, to get to pick his brain, bro, it’s been a dream come true, you know. I’m learning so much from this dude in and out of the ring. He’s really helped me navigate the waters through WWE, and I think you and the rest of the WWE Universe can see that pretty clearly, bro.”
Riddle then described how he believes he has taught Orton to have fun again. He explained that the veteran has often played serious characters throughout his lengthy career, but now teaming up with “The Original Bro” has allowed him to loosen up and showcase a lighter side of himself.
“I feel like I taught Randy how to enjoy wrestling again,” said Riddle. “Not that he wasn’t enjoying it, and he always has fun, but I think I’ve been able to allow him to show a lighter side, a more sensitive side to the WWE Universe that they might not have seen over the years.
He’s had a long career, 20 years, but a lot of people haven’t seen Randy like they’re seeing him right now, and I think he’s enjoying it because I don’t think he ever thought he’d be able to do this kind of work like this. Because he’s such a serious character, he’s ‘The Legend Killer’, he’s ‘The Viper’, he’s ‘The Apex Predator.’ And to be tag teaming with me who’s kind of a lovable goofball, it’s a big contrast, a big change for Randy. And I feel like I’ve taught him to have fun.”
Orton and Riddle will team up with Drew McIntyre to face Roman Reigns and The Usos at WWE WrestleMania Backlash on May 8.
