A civil lawsuit was filed against WWE Hall of Famer Tamara “Sunny” Sytch and her boyfriend James F. Pente earlier this week by the estate of a man who was killed in a traffic incident earlier this year.
The estate of Julian L. Lasseter filed the suit on April 12, 2022, and is seeking “in excess” of $30,000 in damages, according to the lawsuit (via PWInsider). Specifically, the suit alleges negligence on the part of Sytch, and also accuses Pente of being “vicariously liable” for the accident and Sytch’s actions by allowing her behind the wheel in an inebriated state.
The suit also mentions that, due to the actions of the accident, Lasseter’s adult daughter has “has suffered, and will suffer into the future, the loss of her father’s companionship, instruction, guidance, and mental pain and suffering as a result of her father’s death.”
The crash, which occurred on March 25, 2022, involved Sytch as she, according to a police press release, failed to stop while she was driving southbound on U.S. 1 near Granada Boulevard at 8:28 p.m. EST. As a result, she crashed into a stationary vehicle, which subsequently hit another car that was located in front of it. The driver of the vehicle Sytch hit, Julian Lafrancis Lasseter, was then pronounced dead after he was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center.
Since the accident, Sytch has not been arrested, but was named as a participant in the incident when it initially occurred. According to various reports, authorities continue to wait for the return of Sytch’s toxicology tests after a search warrant was issued to draw her blood. Should those reports come back positive, it’s unclear what, if any, charges will be laid against Sytch.
