Jonathan Gresham Announces He’s Not Medically Cleared, Will Miss PROGRESS Events

Jonathan Gresham will be unable to compete at PROGRESS Wrestling events on April 17 and April 18.

The promotion announced the news in a tweet on Sunday. The post featured a video in which Gresham, the PROGRESS World Champion, stated that he is not medically cleared to compete:

“Hello everyone. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to London this weekend for the Sunday and Monday events due to an injury. I have not been cleared to compete. So I do want to apologize to PROGRESS and the fans for not being able to make it this weekend. I really wanted to, but my health comes first and I just have to take a little time off. So once I’m cleared, I’ll definitely be back, and I really look forward to being back, working with PROGRESS and performing for you guys.

“So please keep me in your prayers, I’d really appreciate it. I’ll see you all next time. Thank you for understanding.”

It’s currently unclear how Gresham is injured, but the announcement noted that he’ll be back in action at PROGRESS Chapter 134 on May 15.

According to Fightful Select, Gresham was checked for a concussion after he defended his ROH World Championship against Dalton Castle at AEW Battle of the Belts II on April 16. (The match was taped on Friday.)
