Taya Valkyrie Returns To IMPACT Wrestling, Challenging Deonna Purrazzo For AAA Title At Rebellion

Taya Valkyrie is back in IMPACT Wrestling and she has her sights set on Deonna Purrazzo.

Faby Apache answered the “Champ Champ Challenge” at IMPACT Wrestling’s Multiverse Of Matches event on Friday night, but Purrazzo won the match to retain and still ended up being surprised by Valkyrie.

After the win over Apache, Purrazzo cut a promo about seeing Mercedes Martinez win the interim ROH Women’s Championship at Supercard Of Honor. She said she was still the real reigning and defending ROH Women’s champion, then Taya came to the ring and got in her face. Taya said Deonna should be worried about keeping the AAA title too, then said they’d see each other at Rebellion, and Deonna held her title in the air before leaving.

Taya Valkyrie made her first appearance in IMPACT Wrestling since January 19, 2021. Taya was written off of television as a payoff to the “Who Shot Bravo?” storyline due to her leaving the company. Valkyrie later signed with WWE and worked as Franky Monet on the NXT brand, but she was ultimately released by the company on November 4, 2021.

Valkyrie returned to AAA on December 4 at Triplemanía Regia II and won a number one contender’s match to earn a title shot against Purrazzo for the Reina de Reinas Championship. Asked about the potential matchup taking place in the near future, Purrazzo recently told Candice Cordelia that she was just waiting for Taya to “pop up” and come get the match.
