Montez Ford Explains Why The Street Profits Have Been More Aggressive Ahead Of WWE WrestleMania 38

The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) have typically been known to be a fun-loving duo that can back it up in the ring. But in recent weeks, the former tag team champions have become more aggressive as part of their quest to regain the gold.

During a new interview with “Bleav in Pro Wrestling Podcast“, Ford explained the mindset behind this shift. He noted that their looming title bout at WWE WrestleMania 38 will be the culmination of two years’ worth of pent-up frustration, as the two men have had to wait a long time to have their proper WrestleMania moment. With this in mind, The Street Profits fully plan to go all out at “The Showcase of the Immortals.”

“It’s go time,” said Ford. “The way we’re feeling right now, the mode, the attitude, everything we have right now, has been building for the last two years. Two years ago, we were about to be a part of WrestleMania and the pandemic happened. Last year we were a part of the WrestleMania SmackDown. And this year, we’re actually on the WrestleMania card in front of a full capacity crowd. So, all this built-in aggression, frustration, turmoil, whatever it is, it’s all building up to right now to give the fans and the WWE Universe exactly what they’ve been waiting for, for the last two years. So exactly the anticipation they’ve been waiting for, like for us it’s times a million. So, we’re gonna make sure we deliver on April 3rd.”

Ford then previewed the bout itself; he and Dawkins will compete against RK-Bro and Alpha Academy in a Triple Threat Match for the RAW Tag Team Championship. Ford particularly praised Randy Orton’s longevity and called the ability to share the ring with him “a blessing.” He went so far as to declare that this contest will steal show in comparison to the entire weekend.

“I’m in there with not only the Academy, but Riddle and Randy Orton,” said Ford. “Man, like, this guy’s been doing it for 20 years. And for him to still compete at this high level that he is, and for me to be there with him, is like a testament. And it’s a blessing man. And definitely our motivation and everything we’ve been holding in for the last two years to be a part of this spectacle in front of a packed house. It’s all gonna come to a head on April 3rd, Night Two of WrestleMania. Cause we’re gonna do our thing. Matter of fact, I’m putting it right now on record, we stealing the show. The whole weekend. I’m saying it right now.”

Fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see if Ford can back up his words; WrestleMania 38 kicks off on April 2 and concludes on April 3.
