WWE legend Kurt Angle recently sat down as a guest on The Zaslow Show on AM 560 Sports WQAM (Miami), where he spoke about his excitement for WrestleMania 38, Ronda Rousey’s big match at the show against SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, and her skills as a superstar.
“I follow it as much as I can,” Angle said when asked if he still keeps up with wrestling nowadays. “I don’t watch every show every week, but I’m excited about the WrestleMania card. I think that Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair are going to steal the show…. I really do believe that. Ronda has picked up the business quicker than anybody I know, and Charlotte Flair is one of the greatest to do it, ever. I’m talking, like, even better than her father, so I’m expecting them to steal the show.”
Angle went on to talk about Rousey’s dedication to the business, and the legend stated that she picked up on the theatrics of professional wrestling in a surprisingly quick way.
“She is,” Angle said in agreement with the fact that Rousey was a world-class athlete. “But she picked up on the theatrics of it as well. You know, there’s a lot of emotion and psychology involved in pro wrestling that she picked up pretty quickly, that I was really surprised. I mean, she is a world-class athlete, nothing wrong with that. You definitely want a world-class athlete in professional wrestling. But to be able to pick up the character and the psychology, that is really tough to do, especially as quickly as she did.”
Rousey has been displaying some of these “theatrics” during her feud with Flair, and the two stars will collide on the first night of WrestleMania 38 on April 2.
