CM Punk Says He’d Give Up His Career ‘In A Heartbeat’ So Bret Hart Could Have One Last Run

CM Punk has some high praise for Bret Hart.

AEW star CM Punk defeated MJF in a Dog Collar Match during last night’s All Elite Wrestling’s Revolution pay-per-view event. Following the event, CM Punk took part in a media scrum and expressed admiration for WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart.

Punk said that after the match, someone approached him and said that they got into wrestling because of him, noting how the Straight Edge Society and Punk’s respective matches with Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio got them into wrestling. Punk then said that it was a new detail that moved him, then shared how much Bret Hart meant to him personally.

“I love Bret Hart and Bret’s career was cut short and it’s a goddamned tragedy because there’s people that go over to Saudi Arabia and get paid millions of dollars and that should’ve been Bret. I just feel super fortunate and grateful and appreciative that I got a second chance. I’d give it up in a heartbeat to give it to Bret,” Punk explained, “but I’m gonna enjoy it and I just love that motherf-cker so much. He’s the greatest and he was right, Bret Hart is always right.”
