Adam Cole: I’m ‘So, So Happy’ Bobby Fish And Kyle O’Reilly Signed With AEW

The Undisputed Era lives on in All Elite Wrestling, as the majority of the group has become “All Elite.”

Adam Cole joined the promotion and debuted at AEW All Out before Bobby Fish arrived in October. The duo eventually joined forces, and Kyle O’Reilly completed the trio upon his debut on the “Holiday Bash” edition of AEW Dynamite. Fans have often wondered whether Cole was responsible for this reunion, but the former NXT Champion made it clear that it wasn’t his call.

In an interview with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, Cole discussed the Undisputed Era’s presence in AEW. He stated that he was thrilled when both of his former teammates signed with AEW, but he wasn’t involved with bringing them to the company. Instead, he credited the individual talent of both men as the reason they got hired.

“Here’s the thing: Selfishly and professionally, I would scream from the top of a mountain to say ‘hey, we need to sign Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly,'” said Cole. “But as far as them getting hired, I had nothing to do with that.

“Bobby Fish got hired because he’s Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly got hired because he’s Kyle O’Reilly. Of course, I was the first person in line to go ‘yes! They’re here! This is awesome! Let’s go!'”

Cole emphasized that he didn’t push for AEW to sign Fish and O’Reilly, but he was “so, so happy” when they joined him in the company.

“…I was by no means in anyone’s ear saying ‘listen, you can’t pass up on these guys, they’re really, really good’ – AEW knew right out of the gate how good they are,” said Cole. “So again, very little involvement in quote-en-quote bringing them in to AEW, but the first person in line throwing my arms in the air saying ‘Yes, we got them!’ I’m so, so happy they’re here.”

Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly will be in action at AEW Revolution. Fish and O’Reilly will challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, while Hangman Page will defend his World Championship against Cole in the main event.
