Tony Khan Has Acquired Ring of Honor And Its Video Library

Tony Khan made his “huge announcement” on the March 2 episode of AEW Dynamite.

To kick off the show, AEW CEO/GM Tony Khan delivered the news to a passionate Daily’s Place crowd. He referenced Ring of Honor and stated that, as a fan of the company, he was thrilled to announce the news that he was the new owner of Ring of Honor. Khan recalled the first event in ROH history, “The Era of Honor Begins.” He noted that Christopher Daniels and Bryan Danielson competed in the main event of the show before he stated that the two veterans would face off on AEW Dynamite.

Ring of Honor had been on hiatus for the duration of 2022 up to this point, as the promotion has been reimagining itself. The company is gearing up for its first event of the year, Supercard of Honor, and its new era. It’s unclear how Khan’s acquisition of ROH will affect these plans.

Khan then tweeted an official announcement about the purchase. It notes that Khan has added to acquire ROH and the promotion‘s video library from Sinclair Broadcast Group. Khan is also the new owner of ROH’s brand assets, intellectual property, production equipment and more. The end of the announcement states that more information will be announced in the coming weeks.
