Drew McIntyre On Cesaro Leaving WWE: He’ll Be ‘Fine’, We’ll Have A Match Eventually

Drew McIntyre knows a thing or two about leaving a company; after his WWE release in 2014, he became a star elsewhere before he returned to the promotion in 2017. He has often described how his career trajectory was vital to his ultimate success, as he won his first WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36 in 2020.

With this in mind, during an appearance in In The Kliqwhen asked about the report that Cesaro left WWE, McIntyre explained that while he was disappointed to see “The Swiss Cyborg” leave, he knows the talented star will be “just fine.” The powerhouse expressed his disappointment that he never got to have a singles match with Cesaro, as it remains the top bout on his list. The former champion also noted that Cesaro recently had a child.

“It’s a shame,” said McIntyre. “Like so many people come and go from the company, I’m one of them, and we always see each other down the line. But it sucks more when it’s a friend and somebody that you really wanna wrestle, that was my number one match, and I think his number one match. We’ve both been wrestling for 20 years but never had a singles match, so we’re gonna have to wait a bit longer. It’ll happen eventually, but he’s got his family, he’s got his new kid. And he’s gonna be just fine. He’s far too talented not to be.”

As for himself, “The Scottish Warrior” is focused on his road to WrestleMania and his quest for vengeance against Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss.
