Gabriel Kidd is taking some time off.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Gabriel Kidd took to Twitter to announce that he’ll be taking time off to rest up. Kidd noted that he’s dedicated his life to professional wrestling for 13 years, but now understands that it’s time to put his health first.
“This isn’t a wrestling promo. I am not well and will be taking time off because after 13 years of dedicating my life and putting wrestling first I need a rest,” Kidd wrote. “Thank you to my family and closest friends for giving me the wake up call I’ve needed for a while. I’ll be back.”
Kidd has been open about his issues with mental health and was set to compete at TERMINUS 2 on February 24 but was replaced by Sw3rve The Realest (Shane Strickland) in his match against Davey Richards. Kidd’s last match was a win over Kyle Fletcher at RevPro Live In Southampton on February 13.
