Carmelo Hayes does not love The Acclaimed, apparently.
In a tweet on February 21, Max Caster, one-half of the popular AEW tag team, retweeted a clip of Hayes doing the “peace up, A Town down” taunt during his match against Cameron Grimes on NXT TV. Many fans noted that The Acclaimed often make the same signal on AEW TV. In his tweet, Caster stated that Hayes, like everyone else, “loves” The Acclaimed.
Everyone loves the Acclaimed ?? https://t.co/XswrYGJ0vy

In response, Hayes quickly shot the idea down, as he admitted that he doesn’t know the taunt is associated with The Acclaimed. The reigning NXT North American Champion wrote that he doesn’t watch the YouTube show, which was an apparent shot at the fact that Caster and Anthony Bowens often wrestle on AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation.
Damn I didn’t know this was your thing, I don’t watch the YouTube show ??♂️ https://t.co/mEyB3q8YZM

Hayes and The Acclaimed remain prominent stars for their respective companies, and if nothing else, this exchange was a fun interaction between popular performers on opposite sides of the competition between WWE and AEW.
Update: Caster fired right back at Hayes with a fairly heated response in which he called the champion a racist:
You're being racist https://t.co/sSaRw2AqNO
