Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman are back together, but they have a new threat on their hands — Goldberg.
Heyman realigned with the WWE Universal Champion at the Royal Rumble premium live event. Heyman He his client, Brock Lesnar on Saturday night and left the show with Reigns after “The Head of the Table” cost “The Beast Incarnate” the WWE Championship. On the following episode of WWE SmackDown, Heyman “acknowledged” what really happened on Saturday. He stated that it wasn’t a conspiracy or a plot; it was history in the making. Heyman explained that he was wrong about Reigns when he implied the champion needed to be protected from Lesnar, and he deserved getting fired and punched by “The Tribal Chief.”

Heyman then stated that Lesnar looks and acts like a “schmuck” for his decision to target Reigns. He described how at Royal Rumble, fans learned that a “goat” can slay a “beast”, and he gained the knowledge that he had needed to protect Lesnar from Reigns, not the other way around. Heyman went on to tell the fans that there will be no Title vs. Title match at WrestleMania. Instead, Reigns will simply smash Lesnar, the same way he has conquered many others.
At this point, Goldberg’s music hit. The WWE Hall of Famer marched to the ring and told Reigns that he “acknowledged” the champion as his next victim. Goldberg then challenged Reigns to a match for his WWE Universal Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber.

Goldberg was initially set to face Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 36, but “The Head of the Table” pulled out of the show due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
WWE subsequently confirmed the match for the premium live event.
