Goldberg Open To Discussing New Deal With WWE: ‘You Never Know What The Future Holds’

Goldberg is looking forward to what’s next… but whether that means more matches in WWE remains to be seen.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Goldberg spoke about staying in shape and how much work it takes, especially being a high-profile athlete in his fifties.

“As a power wrestler, it’s tough,” Goldberg says. “It’s not easy to do this at my age. But I knew that, and I said the hell with it. For me, the prize is worth it, and that’s to open up opportunities for my son. If I can continue to do what I’m doing and continue to provide opportunities for him, then I’ll consider this a success.”

Goldberg also commented on his future, which is up in the air at the moment due to his existing deal only having one match left on it. Goldberg might have one more match on this deal, but he says he’s open to talking if WWE has another offer for him.

“I’m focused on what’s next,” Goldberg says. “If they want to come back to me with something, we’ll talk. You never know what the future holds.”

Goldberg spoke about cementing his legacy in wrestling, noting how it’s always risky to come back because he could tarnish his brand, but he is still honored to be doing what he does today.

Goldberg last wrestled at WWE Crown Jewel on October 21 in Saudi Arabia where he defeated Bobby Lashley in a No Holds Barred, Falls Count Anywhere Match. He recently spoke about needing shoulder surgery, but he said he would have the procedure when he’s actually done wrestling for good.
