Less than one week after Cody Rhodes won the AEW TNT Championship from Sammy Guevara, “The American Nightmare” will put the title on the line on the special “New Year’s Smash” edition of AEW Rampage.
On New Year’s Eve, Rhodes will defend the title against Ethan Page. Speaking on Page’s behalf, Dan Lambert has been targeting Rhodes in recent weeks, and the outspoken manager insulted Rhodes’ wife, Brandi on the December 29 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Plus, Darby Allin will take on Anthony Bowens of The Acclaimed, and a special “Technique By Taz” will analyze Hook’s Redrum signature move. Finally, in the climax of their lengthy rivalry, Anna Jay and Tay Conti will face Penelope Ford and The Bunny in a Street Fight.
