WWE is loading up the card for its return to Madison Square Garden, and the company is utilizing all three brands to do so.
Just a few hours before the event on December 26, Madison Square Garden’s official Twitter page shared the news that a NXT Championship Match has been added to the card. Tommaso Ciampa will defend the gold against fellow black-and-gold veteran Pete Dunne on Sunday night.

This title bout isn’t unprecented; Ciampa put the gold on the line at several shows during WWE’s European tour in November; he retained the championship against Bron Breakker and Sami Zayn at multiple consecutive events. Still, it is somewhat unusual to see a NXT Championship Match at a stateside WWE live event.
WrestleZone will provide more details, including the results of the show, as they become available.
