Alex Hammerstone isn’t going anywhere; he’s reportedly set to remain with Major League Wrestling after he signed a new multi-year contract.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that, with this new deal, the MLW World Heavyweight Champion will remain with the company through at least 2023. “Hammer” has quickly become one of MLW’s top stars; the reigning champion hasn’t lost since the 2019 Opera Cup in December. As the inaugural MLW National Openweight Champion, he had a remarkable reign with the title; he held the gold for 865 days before he relinquished it in the aftermath of his world title victory at MLW Fightland. He also won the Battle Riot earlier this year.
Hammerstone rose to prominence in MLW as a member of The Dynasty alongside MJF and Richard Holliday before he broke out as a singles star. He has previously had tryouts with WWE, but “Hammer” will be off the open market for the next few years as he continues to shine in MLW.
