Taz Thanks Fans After Hook’s AEW In-Ring Debut

Taz is indeed one proud papa after his son Hook made his in-ring debut for All Elite Wrestling. The FTW father had the best seat in the house as he was on commentary to call his son’s first match which was against Fuego del Sol on the 12/10 episode of AEW Rampage and Taz made note of the moment afterwards thanking fans for all the kind words on social media.

“Folks, I really need to say THANK YOU to all of you for the tons of tweets toward me about the kind words about Hook – it’s just too many to reply to lol!! And yes, it was SO special for me to call his first worldwide TV match. •Tazmission is now – ‘REDRUM,'” The Human Suplex Machine Tweeted out.

You can read the results of Hook’s match provided by WrestleZone’s Anthony Nash below:

“Late in the match, Hook was able to gain some big momentum by hitting a massive suplex on Fuego Del Sol and beginning to strut about the ring as the crowd in Long Island began chanting his name. He then hit another suplex before he blasted Fuego with a series of forearm blows. To clinch the victory, Hook locked in a rear-naked chokehold on Fuego Del Sol and forced him to tap out.”

It was afterwards when Tony Khan made the announcement that Hook is officially signed by All Elite Wrestling.

Adam Page Pens Thank You To ROH

Taz wasn’t the only member of the AEW team to send out thank you’s. The AEW World Champion in Hangman Adam Page wrote a quick thank you to Ring Of Honor as the promotion may be heading towards it’s farewell event this evening with Final Battle. Hangman went to his Instagram stories to share a ROH photo from yesteryear and attached was the following message:

“Thank you Ring Of Honor. I owe much of my professional success to them and the wonderful people I met and worked with during my time there.”

Hangman spent the better part of seven years with the promotion and coincidentally enough, had his last ever ROH match at Final Battle 2018 against Jeff Cobb for the Television Championship. Final Battle 2021 has undergone some unfortunate changes as it’s current World Champion Bandido is unable to compete due to testing positive for COVID-19. As a means to help the promotion, AEW President Tony Khan allowed recent signee Jay Lethal to return for the event to face ROH stalwart, Jonathan Gresham.
