It appears as if Will Ospreay‘s Major League Wrestling debut is no longer happening.
Will Ospreay was originally scheduled to make his MLW debut this fall, but a new report from SEScoops claims that he will no longer be working for the promotion. In October, MLW announced Will Ospreay would be making his debut for the company. SEScoops now says Ospreay isn’t coming in at all and Ospreay himself confirmed that the working agreement is off.
The report goes to on suggest that a source claims the MLW/New Japan working relationship ending in November led to Ospreay’s agreement ending before he appeared for them. It was noted that MLW informed New Japan about its new working relationship with All Japan, which apparently didn’t sit well with NJPW.
Will Ospreay’s arrival in MLW was announced during the Fightland broadcast on VICE in October. During the MLW Embedded ‘halftime’ portion of the broadcast, Alicia Atout revealed that Ospreay would be making his debut in MLW “this fall,” but MLW announcer Rich Bocchini later mentioned that Ospreay was scheduled to make his debut on November 6 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, which was the company’s War Chamber TV taping that also featured nZo’s debut and the 2021 Opera Cup Final.
Later, it was announced that Ospreay would instead make his debut for MLW in December at the company’s planned event at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City. MLW just taped content in Mexico with The Crash Lucha Libre, and will host its next event, “Blood And Thunder”, in Dallas on January 21.
