Woods defeated Jonathan Gresham for the title at ROH Death Before Dishonor in December, and he’ll defend the gold against Brian Johnson at ROH Final Battle: End of an Era on December 11. “The Tactical Beast” has been taking bookings in recent weeks because ROH announced that it will be going on hiatus in the first quarter of 2022, and multiple outlets reported that the company won’t be renewing the contracts of its talent roster at the end of 2021. ROH star Jay Lethal has already jumped to AEW; he signed with the promotion and debuted at its Full Gear pay-per-view on November 13.
At the same AEW Dark tapings, Brandi Rhodes returned and Marina Shafir made her AEW debut.
