QT Marshall On AEW Competing With WWE: We’re Focused On Producing ‘The Greatest Show Possible’

QT Marshall is one of the most important members All Elite Wrestling, as he has various responsibilities with the company. Due to the fact that he works closely with AEW President Tony Khan, he has a unique perspective on the competition between AEW and WWE.

Fans continue to discuss AEW’s win in the key demographic rating when Rampage went head-to-head with WWE SmackDown for 30 minutes. In an interview with Scott Fishman of The Wrestling Inc. Daily, Marshall shared his stance on the mattter by saying that, to him, “creating good content” is what matters most. He also stated that “winner” or “loser” of this competition isn’t really important because it’s all about entertaining the fans.

“At the end of the day, the way I look at is more content for the wrestling fan,” said Marshall. “Does it make you choose? Yeah, that’s what’s fun about it, you know? And are we gonna win? Who knows? I don’t think there is a winner or loser. I think the fans win automatically.

“And it puts our wrestlers on a different level now because instead of just filming for elevation or something like that, now we’re live again. So now we have like Lee Moriarty, for instance, is gonna be on a live Buy In, and you know, that’s great experience for him. And then you have a massive match like Bryan Danielson vs. Minoru Suzuki, and we’re giving it to you for free because that’s what we want to do, right? Our pay-per-view model isn’t the be-all, end-all. It’s just about creating good content for the fans and that’s what Tony really wants to do.”

Likewise, Marshall explained that while some of Khan’s actions, like putting Danielson vs. Suzuki on The Buy In during SmackDpwn, might be perceived as his attempt to directly compete with WWE, he just wants to give fans the best show he can.

“And the way people are taking it, that he’s just trying to go against WWE, I mean it is what it is,” said Marshall. “You can say that, and it’s how it looks, and maybe deep down it’s what he wants. But at the end of the day, I think he’s just trying to do his best to put out the greatest show possible and have the most eyes on it as well.”
