Bad Bunny Reflects On His WrestleMania Matchup: It Was Like I Died And Went To Heaven

While many celebrities seemingly forget about their WrestleMania moments quickly, it’s something that Bad Bunny will never forget.

Bad Bunny had a very unexpected run with WWE from the Royal Rumble to WrestleMania this year. It ended in a tag team match at WrestleMania that was better than anyone could have predicted.

Bad Bunny recently sat down with Patricia Tortolani of Allure to discuss a variety of subjects. When the topic of professional wrestling was brought up, Bad Bunny spoke about how wrestling has been part of his life as a young child wrestling on the bed with his brother:

“I had the lucha libre [action figures], but I also had my own character for when my brother and I wrestled on our parents’ bed,” Bad Bunny recalled. “I had my entrance music and outfit — a jacket that I took from my dad and underwear that we painted and decorated. We’d play that for hours.”

Bad Bunny also made a point to say how much professional wrestling has influenced his musical career:

“Truly, wrestling has influenced me a lot, and I’ve applied that to my career,” Bad Bunny said. “The style, the importance of having a trademark move or phrase or look, and always remembering the element of surprise. In wrestling, the fans love getting caught off guard. I like to create that same emotion with my music.”

Speaking about his match at WrestleMania, where he teamed up with Damian Priest to take on The Miz and John Morrison, Bad Bunny said it was like he died and went to heaven. Stating that while he’s never watched one of his concerts back, he’s watched his WrestleMania match back a hundred times:

“It was like I died and went to heaven,” Bad Bunny said. “I’ve never sat to watch a recording of one of my concerts. Never. But my wrestling fight — I’ve watched it a hundred times. For like a week, I would go to bed watching it.”
