Even with the “Grand Slam” billing, AEW Rampage still suffered a drop in overall viewership, though it pulled a strong number in the first hour.
According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, an average of 639,500 viewers watched the special two-hour show on September 24, which is down from the 640,000 who watched last week. This decrease marks the fifth consecutive week that the viewership has dropped.
Thurston notes that 727,000 viewers watched the first hour, which scored a 0.32 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. But both numbers dropped in the second hour; 552,000 watched the latter half of the show, which drew a 0.25 rating in the same demographic. On average, Rampage scored a .29 in the 18 to 49 demographic, a slight increase from last week’s 0.29 number.
The first hour was the top-ranked show in the demographic on cable on Friday, and the second hour ranked fourth. Averaged together, the 0.29 number led the way in the demographic during this timeslot.
The first hour of Rampage was watched by 727,000 viewers and did a 0.32 rating in 18 to 49. The second hour was watched by 552,000 viewers and did a 0.25 demo rating.

Friday’s show featured several buzzworthy bouts, including CM Punk’s first match on cable television since 2014. Plus, in the main event, Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston faced Minoru Suzuki and Lance Archer in a chaotic Lights Out Match.
