It’s safe to say that the COVID-19 pandemic derailed some exciting plans Ring of Honor had in store.
Specficially, the company apparently had a plan in place for a live television deal, but the pandemic caused this agreement to fall though.
Former Ring of Honor World Champion PCO described the situation on a recent episode of Pro Wrestling 4 Life w/ Sean “X-Pac” Waltman.
He noted that the company had big plans, but they had to do their best to deal with the challenging obstacles the pandemic produced.
“I feel [the pandemic] was really tough for Ring of Honor because we’ve been one of the more secure companies as far as testing and bubbling and not having fans in attendance and working in an empty arena,” said PCO. “It’s just been like super tough, so I think we lost tons of steam. That’s how I feel now. I feel at one point we were supposed to go live.
“We were supposed to be on Thursday night or Friday night. They had a deal going on with TV stations, and the pandemic hit, and I feel like we were going for the cup or the Lombardi Trophy, or something huge and I feel like we’re kinda back to starting back. And I think it’s a tough blow for the company. But I think it’s part of life, too. It doesn’t always go the way you think it’s gonna go.”
