WWE SmackDown Viewership Drops On 9/3, Stays Above Two Million

The final viewership numbers for the September 3 episode of WWE SmackDown are in, and the blue brand stayed above two million viewers this past Friday.

According to a recent string of tweets from Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston, SmackDown drew in 2.2 million viewers on the latest episode, which marks a drop from the 2.25 million that watched the show on August 27. 805,000 of these viewers were in the 18-49 demographic. In other words, the show scored a 0.62 demographic rating.

Thurston notes that SmackDown”s successful outing, in terms of viewership, is especially noteworthy because the number didn’t drop too much with SummerSlam in the rearview mirror. The show also faced stiff competition from college football on Friday night.

This week’s episode featured a buzzworthy main event, as Roman Reigns defended the WWE Universal Championship against Finn Balor.
