This week on WWE RAW, Humberto Carrillo challenged Sheamus for the WWE United States Championship, but Sheamus cheated to ensure his victory before the match even started. Due to a prior ambush from Sheamus, he was able to easily retain his title.

Earlier in the night, Sheamus was backstage talking to WWE officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville. Sheamus had been told by Pearce via emails that he had to either defend his title or he’d be forced to vacate it. While Sheamus wasn’t happy about the threat, he said he was ready to defend the gold.
However, later in the night and prior to the start of his match, Sheamus attacked Carrillo backstage, delivering a brutal beating to his opponent before he tossed him into a stack of ladders and walked away. When the match officially began, Carrillo made his way to the ring, but he could barely stand up. Sheamus quickly ended the bout swiftly by hitting a nasty Brogue Kick on the challenger to notch an easy victory and title defense.

After the match, Damian Priest saved Carrillo from another assault at Sheamus’ hand, seemingly hinting that he has a bone to pick with “The Celtic Warrior.”
