The Bollywood Boyz: We Were ‘On The Cusp’ Of Breakout Success In WWE, Now We’re Ready To Shine

Despite, or perhaps due to, their release from WWE, The Bollywood Boyz (Samir and Sunil Singh) are ready for their breakout moment.

In an interview with Riju Dasgupta of Sportskeeda Wrestling, the former WWE 205 Live standouts made it clear that they believe there’s a lot of untapped potential in their pairing as a tag team. Now, heading into free agency, the duo is determine to thrive elsewhere.

“I feel like there’s so much potential to what we can do and I feel like we didn’t actually ever get a run as a tag team,” said Samir. “I felt it was on the cusp, so in that sense, we were like okay, you know, it’s not gonna stop here. It’s just, let’s go get it somewhere else where we feel like we can shine and become stars.”

Samir made it clear that he views the team’s run on WWE 205 Live as a success because they regularly turned in good peformances and got remarkable feedback from legends like Shawn Michaels. As a result, he stated that the duo is ready to “break out.”

“I feel like to be honest my brother and I, we’re on the cusp of breaking out big and when we’re on 205 [Live], this last one year, we were booked every week,” said Samir. “We had great outings, we had great feedback from guys Terry Taylor and Shawn Michaels. And so I felt like that big push was coming, so no matter where it is, I feel like we are ready to break out.”

Sunil also descrived how, as genuine wrestling fans, he and Samir always tried to best to maximize their minutes with every opportunity they got.

“We grew up as big fans of the business,” said Sunil. “You know, when you grow up as a fan of the business and you are where you are, then you’re like, okay, we’re on the team, you got the jersey on, we’re gonna make the most of every opportunity and make sure that we shine no matter what.”

As with most wrestlers who get released from WWE, many fans have wondered whether The Singh brothers will sign with All Elite Wrestling. Samir emphasized wrestling’s status as an international industry and shared his excitement for the opportunities that could be available around the globe.

“Right now we’re just focusing on our brand,” said Samir. “We’re ready for any opportunity around the world, to be honest. And I feel like pro wrestling as a whole is so international and so global that we’re ready to springboard and break out, no matter where it is.”
