Mike Bennett will challenge for the Ring of Honor Pure Championship at ROH Best in the World on July 11.
Quinn McKay announced the news on the newest episode of “ROH Week By Week.” Last week, Bennett won a Pure Rules gauntlet match in which Adrian Soriano, Joe Keys, PJ Black, Ryan Mooney, Will Ferrara and World Famous CB were also in action. In an interview after the bout, Bennett vowed to earn Gresham’s respect.
He will face either Jonathan Gresham, the current champion, or Fred Yehi at the pay-per-view. Gresham will defend the title against Yehi this weekend on ROH Wrestling.
The updated card for ROH Best in the World is as follows:
ROH Pure Championship: Jonathan Gresham or Fred Yehi (c) vs. Mike Bennett
ROH World Championship: RUSH (c) vs. Bandido
ROH World Television Championship: Tony Deppen (c) vs. Dragon Lee
Jay Lethal vs. Brody King
