This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was set to conclude with a WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship match between The Mysterios and the Dirty Dawgs. But shortly before the match started, Rey Mysterio was seemingly attacked by an unknown assailant, forcing Dominik Mysterio to step in and face Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler alone.

During the sudden handicap match, Dominik stood his ground and somehow managed to fight off both of his opponents no matter what they threw at him. Toward the end of the match, “Baby Champ” was unable to land a 619 on Ziggler, and he got caught with a double-team powerbomb by the challengers.

As the younger Mysterio struggled to his feet, Rey made a sudden, surprising entrance, coming down to the ring and distracting Roode long enough to allow Dominik to catch him and quickly pin him for the win. Following the match, The Usos made their way to the ring. They confronted the champions ahead of the title match between the duos next week. Backstage, Roman Reigns watched on with a scowl on his face as the show drew to a close.
