Drake Wuertz has reportely been released from WWE.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Wuertz, a former head referee in WWE NXT, was let go on Wednesday, ending his seven-year run with the company.
PWInsider had previously reported that there had been some backstage “concern” about Wuertz, so this move isn’t exactly a surprise.
Earlier this year, Wuertz had been suspended, and as recently as April, he made headlines for a surprising reason:
On Wednesday, a video showing Wuertz at a Seminole County Board of County Commissioners meeting was posted online, showing him speaking emphatically speaking about a conspiracy theory involving child sex trafficking and COVID-19 mask mandates, which led to more details being revealed about his role in WWE.
