William Shatner is known to millions as Star Trek’s Captain James T. Kirk but he has a new title now — WWE Hall Of Famer.
WWE is inducting Shatner into the Hall Of Fame as a member of the 2020 class; the news was first confirmed by USA Today. Shatner will be inducted as a member of the WWE Hall Of Fame’s Celebrity Wing, and he joins JBL, British Bulldog, Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger, nWo (Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman) and the Bella Twins as members of the 2020 class.
Current plans for this year’s ceremony will see both the 2020 and 2021 Hall Of Fame classes inducted in a closed ceremony at the WWE ThunderDome. Rob Van Dam, Eric Bischoff, Molly Holly, Kane and The Great Khali make up the confirmed list of 2021 WWE Hall Of Fame class inductees.
William Shatner has made appearances in WWE over the years, including in 1995 when he monkey flipped Jerry Lawler on an episode of “The King’s Court.” Shatner also inducted Lawler into the HOF in 2007, and performed spoken-word versions of theme songs during an episode of RAW in 2010.
The WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will stream on Tuesday, April 6, on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network worldwide.
