Riddle defied the odds when he defended the WWE United States Championship against Mustafa Ali on Monday.
Riddle has been feuding with Retribution in recent weeks, and Ali hoped to give the stable its first signature win of 2021.
The challenger took control of the match early on with a neckbreaker onto the floor. He maintained the advantage by targeting Riddle’s neck and keeping him grounded. But the champion rallied with several stiff strikes, and he dropped Ali with a suplex. T-Bar distracted the referee and nearly helped Ali steal the win, but Riddle earned the win with the Bro Derek.

Riddle evaded a post-match assault from Retribution to end the night standing tall.
