Johnny Gargano had been proclaiming that he was injured after being attacked by Kushida last week. However, after a brawl with Kushida in the ring tonight and after he appeared at Austin Theory’s side in his match, Gargano seems to have miraculously healed ahead of his NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day match.
Things started off with Gargano having to be helped down to the ring in a wheelchair, before he explained that his arm was broken by Kushida and that he would not be able to face him at TakeOver. However, William Regal came out to explain that if Gargano didn’t compete, he could either forfeit his title or allow Theory to face Kushida for the belt tonight. Kushida then appeared behind Gargano, attacking him and forcing Gargano to reveal that his injuries weren’t real in the first place.
Later in the night, Kushida and Theory faced off against one another in the ring, and Gargano – seemingly fully healed from all injuries – interfered in the match, attacking Kushida and causing the match to end in a disqualification. As Gargano and Theory prepared to assault Kushida, though, Dexter Lumis came to the rescue. Lumis – who was underneath the ring – pulled Theory down and under the mat, before scaring Gargano off and Theory back into the ring. Shortly after, Kushida was able to lock Gargano in an armbar, while Lumis locked Theory in his own submission to knock the pair out.
IT'S A MIRACLE!!!
