If you’re attending WrestleMania week festivities in Tampa this year, one promotion you will not see there is SHIMMER.
SHIMMER Women Athletes, the Chicago-based women’s promotion that is (normally) a regular presence at WrestleCon, announced they will NOT host any events on this year’s WrestleCon schedule in Tampa. Citing the number of questions they’ve received since other groups have announced events, SHIMMER is holding off on running events until they can safely do so in the Chicago area.
With some groups beginning to announce their Mania weekend plans, we’re getting a lot of questions. The answer is: We’ve decided it would be best to WAIT to run more live events until later in the year, when it’s possible to return to our home base in the Chicago area.
WrestleCon recently teased plans for this year in Tampa, and GCW has since announced 11 events over three days that will be part of “The Collective: Remix” in April.
