The WWE Network moving to NBC’s Peacock service will open up more cross-promotion opportunities for WWE.
During today’s fourth quarter 2020 financial call, WWE President Nick Khan explained that the company is looking to piggyback off major NBC events with network specials and to expect WWE to interact with more NBC brands going forward. For example, the WWE WrestleMania commercial aired during an NFL playoff football game broadcasted on NBC.
The company’s hope is that this cross-promotion will help push major WWE pay-per-views and hopefully get new eyeballs (linear ones, even) on the product.
