Kenny Omega promised he’d team with the “world tag team champions” on AEW Dynamite this week, and that’s exactly what happened at the second night of New Year’s Smash. However, it wasn’t the Young Bucks like many thought, but rather the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Champions, The Good Brothers. This news seemingly came as a surprise to even the Bucks, who were prepared to come out.

The trio took on Danny Limelight, Griff Garrison, and Brian Pillman Jr. Needless to say, the three champions made relatively easy work of their unheralded opponents. The ending came after the Good Brothers hit the Magic Killer on Limelight.

After the match, Jon Moxley came out but was outnumbered. Rey Fenix and Pentagon would then even the brawl until the two sides were separated by staff backstage. The Young Bucks would then come down to calm Moxley down, but he yelled at the brothers. Fenix and Pentagon would then come into the ring and superkick the Bucks, and the Good Brothers would make the save while Omega and Don Callis retreated.
