Booker T On Not Speaking At Undertaker’s Final Farewell: It Was His Moment, We Didn’t Want To Overshadow It

Booker T says The Undertaker’s Final Farewell was for “The Phenom” and nothing more needed to be said.

During a recent episode of his Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker addressed his appearance during the Final Farewell segment at Survivor Series and commented on why none of the guests in the ring spoke during the broadcast.

“I look at it a little bit different. We were just there to be there for that moment, for the Undertaker. That moment wasn’t for us to—it was for the Undertaker. It was for him, it was his moment. Anything we would’ve said could’ve overshadowed what he said because we know the Undertaker,” Booker explained, “and he was never a guy that was going to talk a whole lot. And one thing you don’t want to do is give a bunch of old wrestlers a microphone. We’d have been out there all night.”

Booker went on to say that being picked as one of the guests in the ring meant “a hell of a lot to him” and he was personally choked up over it. While there were many wrestlers in attendance, fans were not permitted due to COVID-19 restrictions. Booker says it was supposed to be a celebration with thousands of people in attendance, and he can only imagine a ceremony like that, so that’s the one thing that really dug at him more than anything else.
