Jake Hager had his fourth professional mixed martial arts bout under the Bellator MMA banner tonight at Bellator 250.
Hager, who came into the bout 2-0 with one no-contest, faced a fellow unbeaten heavyweight in Brandon Calton, who also had two victories on his record. Round 1 was contested on the feet and both fighters managed to inflict some damage to the other’s face. Momentum was on Calton’s side throughout Round 2 and Hager was rocked late in the round but managed to hang on. Despite taking some damage, Hager showed grit in Round 3 and landed the better punches. That was enough for Hager to get a split decision victory from the judges with scores of 29-28, 28-29, 29-28.
