Four days after the WWE Draft finalized itself, this week’s SmackDown will be heralding the return of one Daniel Bryan. WWE announced via its website that Bryan will be stepping foot for the first time in the ThunderDome on Friday which the company is touting as its “season premiere.”
Bryan was one of the SmackDown stalwarts to stay put on the blue brand during the draft, but his good coaching friend in Drew Gulak did happen to get moved to RAW. Before leaving, Gulak did send his “student” some best of luck in his future endeavors.
Best of luck to my student @WWEDanielBryan on the #SmackDown brand! I know he will make the blue team proud! #WWEDraft

One of Bryan’s last appearances on WWE television happened to be his participation in the Intercontinental Title Tournament in which he happened to face off against Gulak. “The Planet’s Champion” came out victorious in the two’s in-ring rendezvous. Bryan made it all the way to the finals in that tournament to face AJ Styles for now vacant title, but ended up coming out on the losing end.
