Cedric Alexander Talks WWE’s Cruiserweight Division, Dream Matches, More

WWE Superstar Cedric Alexander recently revealed his true colors when he turned on his friends to align with The Hurt Business. Speaking with Alex McCarthy of TalkSport recently, Alexander was asked about the cruiserweight division within WWE along with who he has on his radar for a future feud. Check out the highlights of the conversation below.

On issues WWE had with cruiserweight trying to compete on the main roster shows:

It goes back to the perception ‘oh, you’re a cruiserweight. You’re not that big so you won’t do that well.’ That’s a perception a lot of people have when in actuality, I’m currently about 210lbs. I’m just as big as a good portion of the guys on the roster – not the giants obviously! – but I’m not a small man. A 210lb man is not a small individual. You gotta understand that just because you’re in that weight range doesn’t mean you can’t hurt somebody pretty bad. Jon Jones has been 205lbs! He’s a monster!

On who should be used more in WWE:

That could be a ton of people! Of course, number one on my list is Ali. He’s my boy. He should have been a champion in some form already by now. Another guy I think just needs to find the right formula is Tony Nese. He’s a phenomenal athlete. He’s stuck down in 205 right now and he’s killing it down there and that’s fine, but I feel at some point you gotta bring this guy up. Based on the fact that, one, look at him! He’s a genetic freak. For a guy that is labelled as a cruiserweight, he’s another one of those guys that if you put him next to Kofi Kingston or Xavier Woods, he’s probably going to be a little bit bigger than them.

On his goals in WWE:

There’s a lot of matches that I feel I need to have. I need to face Rey Mysterio. I need to do it with Ali and I want to get in the ring with Seth Rollins. I really, really wanna have that match and get in the ring with Seth Rollins at some stage. I’ve known Shelton Benjamin 10 years already. I’ve known Bobby for like five or six years and MVP and I are two or three years in to a nice friendship. So it just feels like we’re getting closer and closer and we’re all on the same page with the same goals. We all want to make money and win championships.
