Tonight’s NXT ended in a big tag team match, with Io Shirai & Rhea Ripley taking on Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. However, it was Mercedes Martinez who ended up getting the last laugh, showing up late to help Kai and Gonzalez walk away as winners.
Late in the match, Ripley and Shirai looked ready to do just enough to grab a win in the back-and-forth match. However, Martinez came down to the ring, pulling Ripley off the apron and causing her to hit her head on the ring steps. After taking a big charge from Kai for Shirai, Ripley then stumbled back into the ring, where Gonzalez landed a boot to the face followed by a one-armed powerbomb onto Ripley for the win.
