During tonight’s NXT TakeOver: XXX, the vacant NXT North American Championship was finally filled, when Damian Priest took down Johnny Gargano, Bronson Reed, The Velveteen Dream, and Cameron Grimes in a Ladder Match to become the newest champion.
In a thrilling match, Priest was able to overcome a ton of obstacles, ranging from Gargano and Candice LeRae constantly attempting to get the title all the way to Bronson Reed coming within a few inches of winning multiple times. However, it was eventually left to just Priest and Gargano with both men hanging onto the belt after it had been unhooked. After a few kicks to the head of Gargano, though, Priest was able to knock his opponent off the ladder and claim victory.

Gargano and Grimes fight on top of a ladder. Gargano and Grimes both try to hit each other with the hanging title. Grimes ducks it but it swings around and hits him in the back of the head. Gargano thinks he’s won but Priest grabs the title as Gargano grabs the title. Priest wins the tug of war and after knocking Gargano off the ladder, he pulls down the title for the win.
