Nikki Cross failed at her first opportunity to capture the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, but after tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, she has another shot coming next week.
During the opening of tonight’s SmackDown, Cross and Alexa Bliss interrupted Bayley and Sasha Banks in the ring, with Cross demanding another title shot due to Banks interfering in the match at Extreme Rules. Bayley then said that Bliss and Cross would have to face each other, with the winner getting a title shot next week. Despite Bliss and Cross being friendly, Cross was more than happy to take on Bliss, shoving her on the ramp before running into the ring.
Once the match began, Cross and Bliss went at it, with Cross eventually coming away as the winner after missing a splash off the top rope and rolling up Bliss when she went to check on her friend. With the title shot secure, the duo made up after the match, with Bliss telling Cross to take advantage of the opportunity.
